Jay M. Hibbard
Professional Bio

A Portland native, Jay Hibbard founded Hibbard Associates in 1991 as a full service public affairs and community relations agency.  As principal, he oversees the client service side of the business and implementation of the firm's programs. 

A business graduate of the University of Southern Maine, Jay is civically and politically active.  A former elected member of the Portland City Council, he is past president of the Training Resource Center, a trustee and past president of the Portland Club, past chairman of the Cumberland County Human Services Board; former board member of Shalom House, Inc., past president of the Community Television Network, past director of the Greater Portland METRO and a member of the Maine Public Relations Council. 

Jay served as executive vice president of Intown Portland Exchange, one of the state's largest business organizations and has been involved in numerous economic development activities.  He devotes considerable time to Maine politics having served in a variety of staff and volunteer positions including as Executive Director of the Maine Republican Party and on the state and county GOP committees.

Jay has provided commentary and analysis for a wide array of media outlets including: Maine Public Broadcasting Network; Capital News Service; WGAN radio, WPOR, WCSH TV, WABI TV; Portland Press Herald; Maine Sunday Telegram; Bangor Daily News; Maine Times, Casco Bay Weekly, Biddeford Journal Tribune and the Kennebec Journal.
